Google Pixel Fold How to I Solve 3

How To I Solve/Steve Hemmerstoffer

TL;DR

  • A leaker has claimed that the Pixel Fold will retail for $1,300 to $1,500.
  • The tipster further adds that the Pixel 7a will cost $450 to $500.

A recent leak points to Google launching the mid-range Pixel 7a smartphone and the Pixel Fold foldable at the Google I/O conference in May. Now, a reliable tipster has dished out rough pricing info for these two phones.

Frequent leaker Yogesh Brar has reiterated a May launch for the Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold at Google I/O. But Brar also asserted that the Pixel Fold could be cheaper than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4.

More specifically, the tipster claims that the Pixel foldable could be priced at $1,300 to $1,500. By comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 launched at $1,800 in the US. So the Google foldable could be as much as $300 to $500 cheaper than the Samsung handset.

Brar also suggests that the Pixel 7a will retail for $450 to $500. The $450 price tag would be in line with the Pixel 6a. However, leaked specs suggest we could see welcome additions like wireless charging and a high refresh rate screen.

Nevertheless, the apparent Pixel Fold pricing could be the latest sign that Fold-style foldable phones are coming down in price. For one, Honor recently launched the €1,599 Magic Vs, being €200 cheaper than the Galaxy Z Fold 4 in Europe. Meanwhile, budget-focused brand TECNO is offering its Phantom V Fold handset for Rs 90,000 (~$1088) in India, compared to the Z Fold 4’s Rs 155,000 (~$1,873) price tag.
